Advanced for its era, the Star Bird features a built-in pitch-sensing electronic sound system that alters engine noise based on flight orientation—emitting a climbing engine whine when pitched upward, a diving roar when pointed down, and a steady humming pulse during level flight. Combined with a front-mounted red LED laser photon cannon and an interchangeable front cockpit/interceptor ship layout, it remains an iconic milestone in 1970s electronic toy design.

This listing features the original 1978 Milton Bradley Star Bird Command Space Ship in loose, pre-owned condition. The ship has been bench-tested and confirmed to be operational:   the pitch-sensitive engine sound generator sometimes doesnt shift the sound but stays the steady idle engine sounding hum and the button-activated front LED laser cannon fire crisp, loud audio and bright light. The body shell and battery compartment remain clean and structurally sound. Please note that the two removable outer wing tip fins (winglets) are missing, making this an excellent, functional centerpiece for display, custom restoration, or replacement parts.
